Martin Cagan: Product Leadership Is Hard | Silicon Valley Product Group In this article, I’d like to try to share a high-level overview of the product leadership role. As you’ll soon see, to provide you a detailed view would take more than 400 pages. But hopefully, there will be enough to increase your awareness of the role of strong product leadership, and give you an appreciation for just how hard the job is to do well. (more)

Composability is a system design principle that deals with the inter-relationships of components. A highly composable system provides components that can be selected and assembled in various combinations to satisfy specific user requirements. In information systems, the essential features that make a component composable are that it be: self-contained (modular): it can be deployed independently – note that it may cooperate with other components, but dependent components are replaceable; stateless:[citation needed] it treats each request as an independent transaction, unrelated to any previous request. Stateless is just one technique; managed state and transactional systems can also be composable, but with greater difficulty. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composability see composition

Ryan Singer: 12. Understand business imperatives to get the green light. I keep getting questions about the work that happens before shaping a project. How do we decide if a problem is worth shaping? (more)

Ryan Singer 1. Unfolding the interrelationship diagram. Sometimes I'm working on a design problem, and there are too many things to solve. They all seem tangled together, and I don't know where to start. I'm afraid that if I start on the wrong thing, I'll paint myself in a corner or go down the wrong path and have to start all over again. (more)

Stian Haklev is starting the Argument Diagramming course from OLI. Going to be thinking about how this could be done in a Roam-native fashion... It's fun to see the detailed argument map (mine or theirs) juxtaposed with the text, which uses so many literary devices... Whether you agree or not, you have a lot of specific statements that you could contest, link to evidence for/against, etc... Seems that they combine text entry (similar to Argdown format) with a visual map (and the two are interlinked, click in outline to zoom to box), but also encourage students using this to map out an essay - they also provide essay templates etc. (more)
